On 8th August 2022, Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe received the co-founder of The Breeder Gallery, Athens, Mr. George Vamvakidis and the Director, Exhibitions & Special Projects, Mrs. Alkistis Tsampouraki, at the Chancery.

The gallery has provided residence opportunities for some talented Nigerian artists including Deborah Segun, Barry Yusufu, Johnson Ocheja, Adegboyega Adesina, and Ekene Stanley Emecheta.

Discussions centered on exploring collaborative opportunities to promote more young Nigerian artists and their art on an ongoing basis in Athens, through the gallery’s residence program which has proven to be very successful. Not only will it give our youths the possibility to expand their knowledge, broaden their horizons and be inspired by the ancient city of Athens; but it also affords them with an opportunity to expose their art to the world, beyond Nigeria and Greece.
