2022 got off to a great start for Nigeria-Greek relations with the historic visit on Monday 10th January by the Greek Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Nikos Dendias; the first-ever of a Greek Foreign Minister to Nigeria.
A key highlight of the visit was the announcement of a generous donation of 970,000 COVID-19 vaccines by the Greek government to the Nigerian people. Foreign Minister Dendias and the Nigerian Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama also signed an MoU on Bilateral Consultation; a significant step towards moving forward several agreements in the pipeline covering trade, tourism, maritime transport, security, energy, bilateral air services etc.
Nigerian Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo also received the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and his delegation, at his office at Aso Rock, Abuja.
We are very proud of the success of this historic visit and look forward to the work ahead to ensure the further deepening of the relations our two countries enjoy for our mutual benefit.
