On 14th May 2022, Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe participated in a meeting of Nigerian Ambassadors in Europe with the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Geoffrey Onyeama, on the sidelines of the Minister’s working visit to Bulgaria and Romania.

The meeting was hosted by the Nigerian Ambassador to Romania, H.E. Safiya Nuhu, at the Embassy of Nigeria in Bucharest.

In attendance were the Nigerian Ambassadors to Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Switzerland and Greece.

Discussions centred on Nigeria’s humanitarian response to the crisis in Ukraine, and next steps as well as consular and diplomatic matters.
