On 19th July 2022, Ambassador Opunimi Akinkugbe participated in the African Group of Ambassadors meeting chaired by Ambassador Beryl Sisulu, South African Ambassador to Greece and Dean of the African Heads of Mission. Head of Chancery Patience Ochekwu and Second Secretary Zerah Waminaje were also in attendance.

The meeting focused on the upcoming African Cultural Festival.
